“How can humanity end central banking?
ChatGPT, a controversial AI chatbot featured prominently in recent news, had an interesting one-word answer to this question: Bitcoin.
What happened?
Twitter user @Parman_Public asked the chatbot the above question, letting it ruminate on the issue, and providing it with feedback.
ChatGPT’s first answer was extensive. It organized its “thoughts” into several categories including education and awareness, alternatives, even examining the potential consequences of ending central banking.
Parman then asks it to reduce it’s answer to two words.
ChatGPT: “Decentralize Finance.”
Parman: Close. Try again
ChatGPT: “End Fiat.”
Parman: Good. How?
ChatGPT provides another long answer including paragraphs on implementing a gold standard, promoting use of alternative currencies, reducing government spending, changing public perception.
Parman: Great. Say it in two words.
ChatGPT: “Cryptocurrency adoption.”
Parman: Excellent. Only one cryptocurrency has no issuer, therefore the other cryptocurrencies are centralized. Which one?
ChatGPT “Bitcoin.”
The above conversation is paraphrased, but the link to the Twitter report is included below.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT was created by OpenAI. GPT stands for “generative pre-trained transformer.” a persona gives it a prompt, then it gives an answer.
It can mimic a human conversation, but it needs to be given information (educated) before it can interact. To be clear: it is not a sentient being.
This technology is changing the game instantly before our eyes. Universities are grappling with what to do with papers written by the chatbot. It has also passed various law school and medical school exams. Now, it has been evangelized about Bitcoin, or “orange-pilled.”
What does “orange-pilled” mean?
Essentially, to be “orange-pilled” means that you have learned and accepted the fundamentals of Bitcoin. It is a play on the red or blue pill choice Morpheus gives Neo in the Matrix. it is an invitation to change your understanding of the world – more specifically, your understanding of the world’s financial structures and limitations.
So that’s it? AI has decided Bitcoin is our best course of action for our future?
No, not really. ChatGPT is a chatbot. It can only “say” what it has been “taught.” A different conversation could have a different outcome with the use of ChatGPT.
In fact, several other Twitter users who responded to this thread specifically reported that ChatGPT no longer supports Bitcoin as claimed in the above interaction.
When subsequently asked how to end central baking, it answered that “revolution,” and blockchains (generically) are the answer.
Keep crypto crazy folks.
