Decrypt studios organized an awards gala at Art Basel Miami 2022 to recognize achievements in the cryptoverse. The opening joke from MC @TheFatJewish was, “Where is Sam Bankman-Fried?” The night certainly demonstrated that this industry can poke fun at itself.
The fancy black-tie-optional event was sponsored by Polygon and Filecoin, as well as a variety of other big players from the blockchain, NFT, metaverse, venture, Web3, and DeFi genres.
Over 4000 people voted for the awards in the categories of:
- Game of the Year
- DeFi Project of the Year
- Metaverse Event of the Year
- Investor of the Year
- DAO of the Year (which no one accepted in person… because, like, isn’t that the point of a DAO)
- NFT Project of the Year (I bet you can guess the winner of this one)
- Social Impact Award
- Diversity Award
- Mainstream Award
- Industry Achievement Award.
