Involvement with Valkyrie

Wald persuaded Charlie Lee of Litecoin to invest in Valkyrie Series A funding.

Valkyrie launched a Bitcoin futures ETF in 2021. They also sponsor a Bitcoin mining centered ETF which started trading in February of 2022, with an abbreviation symbol of WGMI (likely a nod toward the pervasive crypto-lingo WAGMI = We’re All Gonna Make It).

In early 2023, Valkyrie has offered to assume operations of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, which is trading well below initial value. As such it has run into legal proceedings. By throwing their hat in the ring, and planning to accept a much lower management fee, Valkyrie is asserting their dominance in this space.

It was recently revealed that 90% of Valkyrie Digital Asset holdings belonged to Justin Sun, equal to over 500 million dollars worth of Bitcoin.

In October 2022, Wald was appointed to sit on the board of Huobi… the same month Justin Sun and TRON took over the Singapore-based exchange.
